A trip to Laughlin Nevada!
After 45 minutes of flying across the brown desert one comes upon an oasis at the Colorado River called Laughlin Nevada. Cross the river and land at Laughlin Bullhead International Airport where there is plenty of ramp space. Typically Landmark Aviation will direct you into parking, then give you a ride to the General Aviation terminal.

Ask the desk to call for a shuttle to the Casinos and within 10 minutes a van appears. The shuttle is free but I always tip the driver.

Get off at the first casino, The Riverside, if I want to visit another casino there is a free Colorado River ferry boat behind each casino that backs to up the river. Several boats are running so the wait is minimal.

Inbound to Laughlin we heard a Lockheed tail number and were happy to find a restored TWA Airliner taking fuel. Our friends were waiting for us in Laughlin and now I kick myself that I didn't spend more time with the people flying the restored Lockheed 12A from JFK to San Luis Obispo where the aircraft is based. They were following the old TWA routes stopping at several airport across the country and filming a documentary. Before American Airlines bought TWA they were my airline of choice.
